The LetsRun crew breaks down Kerr's flawless splits, what it means for the Cole Hocker rivalry heading toward LA 2028, and why the Brooks Beasts are suddenly track's most impressive training group. Plus: Brandon Miller destroys Emmanuel Wanyonyi in the 800, Keely Hodgkinson battles through a rough stretch, and Ajayi's stare-down of Oblique Seville sparks a heated debate about sportsmanship. Josh Kerr Speaks About Chasing The Mile World Record At London Diamond League

Josh Kerr will attempt to break the mile world record on Saturday, July 18 at the Novuna London Athletics Meet — a 27-year-old mark of 3:43.13 set by Hicham El Guerrouj in Rome in 1999. It is the first genuine attempt on the world record since El Guerrouj ran it. In the 27 years since, only three men have broken 3:45 in the mile: El Guerrouj himself, Jakob Ingebrigtsen (3:43.73 in 2023), and Yared Nuguse (3:43.97 in 2023). None of them were specifically targeting the record. Kerr has been. He announced Project 222 — a reference to 222 seconds, or 3:42, the time it would take to comfortably break the mark — back in March. His entire 2026 season has been built around this race. He's peaked for global championships four consecutive years and taken home three medals (a gold, silver, bronze), running his season's best in the final each time. His coach Danny Mackey believes he's fitter now than at any of those global championships.

Project 222 – Ep. 4 Two weeks to go. Every athlete has a secret weapon. This week, you get to see one of mine. In this episode, I take you inside my box altitude setup and explain the philosophy behind “sleep high, train lower,” why altitude matters, and how it’s become an important part of my preparation for Project 222. Alongside that, it’s back to the work. An 8-mile tempo run, one of the key sessions of the week. Nothing flashy, just controlled, uninterrupted running that continues to build the engine needed to chase a world record. With only two weeks until London, the hard work is done. Now it’s about trusting the process, sharpening every detail, and arriving ready. The countdown continues. https://boxaltitude.com/products/altitude-bedroom-system

Project 222- Ep 3 Three weeks to go. The road to Project 222 continues. Following another 800m in LA, it's back to the training that will decide whether 222 is possible. This week, I take on one of the biggest sessions of the build: 4,000 metres of work at Project 222 pace. Four sets of 200m, 600m, 200m with just enough recovery to do it all over again. With only three weeks until the world record attempt, every session matters. The fitness is there. Now it's about proving I can keep hitting world record pace when the fatigue starts to build. Can I complete the session? And what does it tell us about where I'm really at? The countdown continues. 00:00 - Introduction 01:05 - Set 1 03:50 - Set 2 06:35 - Set 3 09:19 - Set 4
