Tsige Duguma won the women's 1500m at the Silesia Diamond League in a world-leading 3:55.06, going from fifth to first over the final 100 meters in the kind of closing kick that has become the calling card of the world's best 800m runners. Jess Hull took second in 3:55.20 after leading with 100 meters to go. Poland's Klaudia Kazimierska set a national record of 3:55.59 in front of a home crowd. The race had three lead changes over the final lap. Dorcus Ewoi took over with 200 to go. Hull moved to the front with 100 remaining. Duguma passed everybody in the final straight. Kazimierska had front-run the entire race and was rewarded with a Polish national record. Seven of the nine finishers ran a world lead, seasonal best, or national record.
