After winning the 5000m on Friday, Fisher only needed a third-place finish in Sunday’s 3000m to lock up the $100,000 Slam Champion title in the Men’s Long Distance event group—and that’s exactly what he did. Letting Hagos Gebrhiwet and Telahun Haile Bekele go early, Fisher conserved energy and executed a flawless tactical race, staying with the pack and using his trademark kick to secure third.
