Ethan Strand shares insights on becoming the newest NIL athlete for NIKE! Ethan went on an absolute tear in 2024. He competed at four meets during the indoor season, where he ran the Mile, 3k, and DMR. Ethan broke Tony Waldrop mile school record of 3:55 from 1974 in a 3:54.62 effort that won the mile event at the Eagle Elite. He was also part of a DMR group that set an ACC indoor record in the DMR. He earned First Team All-America status after finishing fourth in the Mile at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Ethan moved into the No. 2 spot on the UNC all-time performers list for the 1,500m. He also moved into the No. 6 slot on UNC's all-time performers in the 5000m, running 13:36.57. He repeated as ACC champion and first-team All-ACC in the 1500m at the ACC Outdoor Championships in Atlanta, Georgia. He was named Second Team All-America in the 1500m, finishing 9th at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in 3:40.90. In today's conversation, Ethan takes me through his brand new NIKE NIL Deal, his 2024 season, and the ups and downs that came with it, his ambitions for this upcoming cross season, and so much more! It's always a fun time chopping it up with Ethan, don't miss this one. If this episode blesses you, please share it with a friend!
