In episode forty-nine of The Running Effect (with Dominic Schlueter), I speak with my good friend Sean McGorty.
In this episode, we go through Sean's crazy past year. In 2021, he got his feet wet (pun intended) in a new event the steeplechase, underwent his second-ever Achilles surgery, and narrowly fell short of making his first Olympic team.
I personally can't wait to see all that Sean has in store for 2022 and beyond! A quote from Winston Churchill that I think embodies Sean's mindset well, "Success is going from failure to failure without any loss of enthusiasm". Sean has sacrificed so much to get to the level he's at now and continues to have a positive and contagious attitude. He's gone through two massive Achilles surgeries, missed an Olympic team, and battled other adversity, but yet still keeps on fighting. Sean's fighting spirit is one of the most inspiring things I've ever seen.
