Performing better isn't just about training; it’s about understanding what your body needs to perform at its best. That's why @Vo2maxProductions and I decided to make the 3-hour drive to Boulder to get sweat tests. Instead of making educated guesses about how many milligrams of sodium we were sweating out per liter, we wanted to know for sure. That way, we can create hydration plans that we're fully confident in.
Huge thanks to Dina Griffin, aka the nutrition mechanic, for doing our sweat tests last week! We both had a wonderful experience and left wishing we had done this a lot sooner. We have some changes to make that should help us finish races feeling stronger. As Dina mentions in the video, this can be a game-changer for endurance athletes—and you only have to do the test once. Now, Sage and I both need to keep measuring our fluid loss in different conditions to get a better idea of how much we need to drink.
