Dad with me, suburban edition. Summertime out here means a lot of driving around, juggling the kids activities. My kids are in day camps, each with different start times, end times, locations, and durations. And a lot of times, it feels like we’re doing too much. My parents certainly didn’t cater to our summers like this. They couldn’t.
But my wife and I always end each summer thinking that we didn’t take advantage of the things that we left the city for. And so this year, we’re trying to hit the summer running.

I’ve been wearing a variety of Teva for much of my life. I used to live in the sandals and would be proud of having a weird Teva foot tan. And then in college, I pretty much only wore Teva flippy floppies for four years straight.
Recently, they sent me a the Aventrail R2T, which is a running sandal meant for roads and light trail. The foam kinda feels like the Hoka slide, and the straps of the upper have some neoprene and padding for softness under the straps. The rocker is aggressive and I do think I could probably run in these for a bit. If I ever went camping, I’d bring these.
My teenage daughter thinks they look goofy and rolls her eyes every time I put them on. But I just remind her that Teva walked so Crocs could fly.
