Saucony continues to confound with the naming of their shoes. With an Incredirun top layer and a PWRRun bottom layer, separated by a 3/4 plate, this shoe feels like it should have been called the Kinvara Pro 2. But I suppose this shoe also makes sense as a new addition to the Endorphin family (although, Endorphin Shift 4 was right there)
I was hoping that the Incredirun, which I thought was a bit too mushy in the Endorphin Elite 2, would be just right for a daily training application. but somehow, even when combined with a dense layer of PWRRun, it’s still a bit mushy. While I don’t dislike the sensation, the experience feels a bit like I’m stomping all the time. And the shoe feels a bit lethargic when I do try to pick up the pace.
I think I would probably use this shoe as a max cushion shoe, as I’d prefer the Endorphin Speed 5 for both tempo running and daily training. I do like this more than the latest Triumph, but the retail of $200 makes it a hard sell. Fortunately, this shoe seems to be discounted already to $150, which does actually make this shoe worth considering.
