After two years of running it as a fat ass, the 2025 event will be a real race with permits and course markings and fully-stocked aid stations. The route is a single 100 mile loop that starts and finishes at the base of one of Butte’s historic copper mines. The Copper Kings 100 has a 40 hour cutoff so more runners an opportunity to finish. The course has 14,400 feet of gain and ranges in elevation from 5,400 to 8,400 feet. The 2025 event will start Friday June 27 at 4:00am.
