The Nimbus underwent a massive change for version 25, and since then, it’s been little tweaks here and there. For version 27, it picks up 2 more mm of FF Blast Plus Eco while coming in at a slightly lighter weight (I think the savings come from switching the upper from knit to jacquard mesh). The overall result for me isn’t so much that it feels softer, but it feels less over-stabilized compared to last year. They’re all pretty similar (which makes sense after such a big change for 25), but I’d rank them as 25, 27, and then 26.
I did start getting a hot spot in the right foot at about the 10k mark for two consecutive runs in the shoe. It wasn’t so bad as what I experienced in the NB Balos, but it reminds me of the days when ASICS shoes had that little donut ring of forefoot GEL.
