Diadora invited media up to their HQ in Italy to check out their new Atomo Star. We were able to see how it was developed and where it gets made.
In Diadora’s effort to reach a wider customer base, this shoe represents a modern approach to the midsole experience that is quite different from what they’ve done in the past. They’re using supercritical EVA in a formulation that is somewhere in between a Forever Run v1 and a Glycerin Max.
.
And yet, it’s still very much a Diadora. There’s a bit of stability to reign in the potentially chaotic midsole foam. And Diadora’s distinctive styling POV still shines through. The easy/recovery pace experience is one I’ve enjoyed so far as I’ve explored the Northern Italian country roads.
.
Further testing: I think the shoe has some speed potential as a peppy long run option. I’d like to get in some extended tempo or moderate miles in them before I put out a full review, but I’ll have to wait until I get home and recover from jet lag and jet legs
.
Disclosures: I received these shoes from Diadora. I am currently in Italy on a media trip hosted by Diadora. No one previewed this footage or commentary before it published.
